White Bridle Therapeutic Horsemanship is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that was founded in 2007.
Our mission is to provide equine-facilitated learning programs that improve the mental, physical and emotional lives of children with autism and other developmental delays.
Our vision is to affect positive change for children with autism and other developmental delays allowing them to live happier, more productive and more rewarding lives.
In 2009, we launched a mobile, therapeutic horsemanship program that served children in Dallas, Irving, and Grand Prairie in partnership with Grand Prairie Parks and Recreation. This program served children with special needs - primarily children on the autism spectrum and combined driving with miniature horses; horsemanship skills on an obstacle course; and exercises aimed at improving cognitive function.
In 2014, we moved to a permanent location at Rocky Top Ranch in Keller and have expanded our programs to include both therapeutic riding, driving, horsemanship skills and "cognitive improvement activities."
In April, 2015 we started a full and part time ABA program that bills through insurance as White Bridle Learning and Therapy. Children in this program receive a naturalistic approach to ABA and have horse time several times a week.
