Magic
August, 2009
Magic is one of three miniature horses that we received through a personal donation from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s fundraiser in May. Magic, Sir Lancelot and Silver Treasure were auctioned at the event in March and were donated to us several weeks ago.
Magic is a horse that we didn’t think would be ready for our start date of September 19th for our equine assisted therapy program, but our volunteer, Savannah, has been putting in long hours with him, and he could turn out to be one of our better minis for the program.
December, 2009
Magic is in training with Savannah, one of our kid volunteers. She loves him and has made him her project horse. Magic is like putty in her hands. He will do anything for her.
We think that this is the best possible outcome, because it gives her a real sense of accomplishment by taking our most challenging mini and transforming him into a horse who simply wants to please.

April, 2011:

All three of these minis have participated in the program, and both Magic and Silver are capable of going into cart driving training for us; but with the question of finding a permanent home, we don’t need two additional cart driving minis to train right now.
The expansion of the program most certainly has been hampered, because we don’t have land in the city.
Our program is designed as an effective program to do a large scale equine assisted therapy program on small tracts of land in urban areas; but we’ve been unable to find an adequate, safe location in the city to keep the minis; so Magic, Silver and Lancelot spend their days eating grass and playing with their guard lama, Paco.
