Brook Boleyn, Executive Director
I am Executive Director of White, Bridle Humane Society, an organization that I founded in 2007 as a horse rescue with the intent of serving the community.
In 2009, we created an equine assisted recreational therapy program using our 8 miniature horses.
We knew that the scale of the horses was “right”, but we didn’t know if any of the documented benefits of riding therapy programs would pertain to our program. So we were thrilled when nonverbal children started giggling and talking when we drove them in the carts pulled by the miniature horses; and then started talking while doing the occupational therapy exercises that are part of our program.
I had studied the benefits of horse therapy before starting White Bridle as a rescue; and we’ve now successfully expanded our operation to serve both horses and children. So we are fulfilling our dream of serving our community in a useful manner.

The programs that we’ve created and are planning to create are the fulfillment of a life desire to make a positive impact in my own small way on the world. I understand horses pretty well and know that they can be of great service to us. And that knowledge is opening up the world of horses to others who can benefit it.
